Do I need a permit?

A Certificate of Zoning Compliance (CZC)* is required whenever you are constructing, reconstructing, demolishing, converting, or placing a structure on a property. A CZC permit may also be required for a change in use of a building, and/or a change of use of a property. Both Home Occupations and accessory apartments require a CZC permit. Contact the Zoning Enforcement Office for details.

A sign permit is required for most signs. Contact the Zoning Enforcement Office for details.

* The Certificate of Zoning Compliance is verification that a project complies with the requirements of the Sanbornton Zoning Ordinance. The Town of Sanbornton does not enforce the State of New Hampshire building code.

All construction projects must comply with the 2015 International Residential Code (IRC), and all other codes adopted by the New Hampshire State Building Code Review Board; click here (click back button to return to Sanbornton website).
